Here's some of what I have done to my room thus far:
First my alphabet border:
Then my number line:
Our nap time watcher Geraldo Giraffe (pronounced Hurahldo Hurafay) picks the student who has been the most improved behavior wise to nap with.
Our reward chart choices.
The students' "penguin banks"to keep their coins in.
This is me please excuse my face.
Being a group of 5 and 6 year old children we have A TON of tattle tales so I brought in my buddy Terrence to act as my tattle tale mediator.
Our Popcorn Word Wall
Each day I write a message to the class then we search for the popcorn words in the message and the students come up and "butter" the popcorn words and lead the cheer (Give me an A! a! Give me a M! m! What does that spell? AM!). This has been really helpful to my kids, they are recognizing popcorn words all over the place now.
I made this quiet game as extra practice on tens and ones the students can take it to their desks when they have finished all their seat work.
Our new number line after I used the old space for the popcorn word wall.
As one of the behavior coin rewards the kids can "purchase" lunch in the classroom and I was shocked how many of them actually enjoy it.
God has put you exactly where He needs you. What a blessing you are to your sweet Kinders.
